Lesson Activity: Research Drone Uses in Your Subject Area
Objective:
Educators will research and identify at least three ways drones can be integrated into their current subject area, gaining insight into the practical applications of drone technology in their specific field.
Instructions:
1. Research (30-45 minutes):
- Use online resources, articles, or videos to explore how drones are currently being used in various educational fields.
- Focus on your subject area (e.g., science, math, history, physical education, etc.) and find at least three specific examples or innovative ideas where drones could be effectively integrated.
- Consider how drones might enhance learning, increase engagement, or facilitate new types of projects or assessments in your subject area.
2. Document Your Findings (15-20 minutes):
- Write a brief summary (100-200 words) for each of the three ways you identified.
- Be sure to include specific examples, potential lesson ideas, or possible projects that align with the drone applications you researched.
3. Share & Discuss:
- Post your findings to the course discussion board.
- Engage with at least two of your peers by responding to their posts. Consider sharing additional ideas, asking
questions or discussing how their examples might also apply to your subject area.
4. Deliverable:
- A post in the course discussion board that includes:
- A description of at least three drone uses in your subject area.
- Respond to other's posts.
This activity encourages collaboration and helps you explore innovative ways to integrate drones into your educational practice.
